Full terms & conditions for Cake Creations by Rita are detailed below. By paying a deposit it will be deemed that you have read and accepted this applies to your order.


You agree to pay the price as quoted on your signed order form. By paying a deposit it will be deemed that you have read and accepted this applies to your order

When ordering wedding cakes, it is advisableat least 3 months notice should be given and 1 month for celebration cakes.

Bookings and Deposits:

All orders and booking dates are only secured with a non-refundable deposit. Once deposits are received and cleared, your booking will then be fully secured.     All wedding and celebration cake orders will require a 50% non-refundable deposit.

Should you have a budget, then the cake will be designed around that, except for circumstances beyond my control eg; increase of flower prices etc;

Following your consultation, the quote will be valid for 6 weeks, by paying the deposit will ensure this will be the price you pay. 


Should your cake require fresh flowers, then these will NOT be included within the price, unless specifically stated on the quote. I will work with your florist to provide flowers that coordinate with your event { an arranged charge will be required to cover time}. However I strongly recommend that the flowers for your cake should be sourced myself, as I cannot accept responsibility for issues that arise with another florists flowers eg: colour not coordinating with colour of icing. Should you still choose not to source the flowers through me, then it is your responsibility to pay the florist bill directly {as its not included in the price of the cake}.

Final Payment

Full balance is due four weeks prior to the cake delivery date as specified on your order form. On you initial invoice the date of the full balance will be included and a reminder of the final amount will be emailed to you no less than seven days before payment is due. Failure to make payment of the remanding balance may result in you order being cancelled and you date being made available to someone else.

Payment methods accepted are: cash, Bacs or cheque {deposit only}. Cheques should be made payable to Rita Hardingham. Please allow an additional five working days for cheques to be banked and cleared. Please write your name and quotation number on reverse of cheques. Once payment has cleared and email confirmation will be sent to you.

I do not accept Debit or Credit Cards.

Late Payments

Late or non payments could result in the loss of your booking. In the event of a late or non payment. the order will not proceed until an alternative funding has been agreed and payment in full has been made. If your deposit has not been paid within 6 WEEKS of quoting, then I reserve the right to cancel all orders, also I cannot guarantee that the price quoted will be the price you pay.

Should you not make the final payment, then no commission will be released.


Wedding Cakes: 12 weeks or more:  I reserve the right to retain 50% of your deposit. If the event is cancelled 3 weeks before event, I reserve the right to retain 75% of the deposit. If the cancellation takes place within 7 days of the event, then 100% of the deposit is retained. 

Celebration Cakes: 4 weeks or more, I reserve the right to retain 25% of your deposit. Less than 4 weeks, then 100% of deposit is retained

All cancellations must be in writing and will take effect when it has reached my office. In the event of cancellation, you may be charged for any work already completed. 

If you postpone your event, I shall do my best to honour the commission, on the understanding that I have the dates suitable for me, otherwise it will be treated as a cancellation. 

I retain the right to cancel a booking due to circumstances beyond my control, such as ill health, fire or flood. Should this happen, then a full refund will be given.

Change of Wedding Date:

If for any reason you wish to re-arrange the date of your wedding  I will try my best to accommodate these changes without additional charges provided sufficient notice is given, and I'm able to provide a cake for the re-arranged wedding date. However, if I'm fully booked on you new wedding date and cannot provide the wedding cake, I will refund 50% of your deposit. As a compromise, it may be possible to provide you with a cake prior to your wedding date, but under these circumstances it will be your responsibility to collect, deliver and set up the cake at the venue. If you cancel your wedding cake order with me after requesting a change of date, no refunds will be made to you {the client} under any circumstances.




It is your responsibility to check all written quotes received and any amendments to be put into writing and returned to me ASAP. 

Any adjustments to the original quote will be amended if possible. Should you decide to make changes to your commission, then this will occur an extra charge to the original quote and you will be charged accordinly.

Special Dietary Requirements

Any special recipe request such as "no nuts" will be met where ever possible. However, whilst your chosen cake will not be made with nuts or a nut product, no absolute to no nut guarantee can be given, as some ingredients are not guaranteed nut free by manufacturers. Allergy information will be proved with all orders. 

Please inform me if you should require a cake free from Gluten, Nuts, Dairy, Eggs and Alcohol. Even though it is possible to bake a cake without these ingredients, they are still used on the premises, so I cannot guarantee they will be completely free from all traces of allergens.  

Stand Hire:

I have a range of stands and bases for hire. All stands and bases require a deposit in addition to hire charges, which is fully refundable on return of the hired stand and base. Any damage will be deducted from the deposit. In the event that damages are excessive, or a loss has occured, then the deposit will be retained.

Delivery / Collection:

Collection: On the day off collection, your order may be collected at the pre-arranged time, as agreed on your order form. Should you wish to change the collection details, I will do my best to accommodate, but cannot guarantee availability.

Deliveries: I will deliver at the time and address agreed with the customer on the invoice. If I cannot deliver because no one is there to receive the product or the address is wrong, the product will be returned and held for a maximum time off 24 hours.

Delivery / Set Up of Your Cake At Venue:

Cakes should be inspected on receipt to ensure that they are not damaged in transit, as you {or third party taking delivery eg; hotel/wedding planner etc;} shall be solely responsible for any damage to any products which occurs {i} after the delivery or collection of any product and/or {ii} as a result of failure to follow instructions/advice I may have given in respect storage or setting up or further transport of the cake.

Cake Table

It is your responsibility to arrange with your caters to supply a cake table and table linen and is set up ready for when the cake is delivered.
